WonderSalerno, the innovative app that will tell the story of our city
In the beginning it was WonderSoccer, or a new, unprecedented version of a management game, born from the intuition of the creatives of Wonderlab and available soon for Android and iOS devices. In the future, who knows.
What is certain is that something is boiling in the pot. Wonder Salerno was born mainly from the strong bond that the founders of Wonderlab feel their land of origin. The city of Salerno, in fact, is not just a dynamic and highly liveable southern reality: it is also an important cradle of artistic and cultural treasures capable of attracting and involving a significant number of tourists and scholars.
In the municipality there are buildings of considerable historical importance and, moreover, in its secular life, the city has been the scene of numerous important events. Places and treasure objects that constitute a real thing that does not always find valorization, and unfortunately, is often little known even to the local population itself.
The design idea, therefore, arises from the awareness of Salerno's immense historical-cultural heritage and evolves driven by the desire to bring it to an ever wider audience. Wonder Salerno therefore represents the creation of a new way of living Salerno, strongly marked by the culture and history of the city. The project consists in the creation of an augmented reality app, through which tourists (even the inhabitants of the city of Hippocrates themselves) will be able to see the 3D reconstructions of historic buildings.
Furthermore, in the project idea, accessibility represents a key element: thanks to the collaboration with the “Vela Centro Servizi Sociali” Association, the entire platform will be created in such a way as to guarantee full usability even for people with visual and hearing impairments. Among the tools to support the visit by people with disabilities, we highlight:
· Multilingual subtitles of all contents;
· Technological devices for the Braille translation of the entire augmented reality app;
· Immersive audio and specific project for the story;
